Icing on the Cake - Chapter 1
David was the name of a boy who wasn’t normal. A boy who just so happened to be a freak of nature. And it also happened to be the name of a boy who didn’t have a family anymore; who lived on the street because he no longer had a family. A boy that was different from normal people, but also a part of the minority.
David was the name of a boy as David Katze, who just happened to be a model for one of the most famous magazines. David Katze looked a lot like David - the similarity even going as far as to share the same first name - but they weren’t really the same. Much like David, Katze had lived on the streets and was part of
Dark eyes snapped open suddenly, the iris' moving about frantically. The young boy had just been taken from something that seemed too good to be true, too far away, to someplace familiar; some place that was just as different as it was familiar. Suddenly his eyes focused on something on the wall; a simple dent in it that looked like it had been made by either a fist or a head. Why both options when a head was so much larger than a fist? The answer was simple: the dent had been made by a skull striking it and then dented in more by a closed fist in a fit of rage.
Those eyes that had seemed so colorless a moment before closed slowly, the teena

A smile, both of pride and of minute worry, whispered across Anna Koell's porcelain lips. The Austrian teenager peered gracefully from atop the stairs, ruby eyes glimmering as she watched the Institute's Hunters leave through the door, quickly masked by the ink of the night. And as she watched the people bustle - Seisyll was hanging all over Zoe like a love-sick puppy, Silas was telling Dylan to be careful out there, and fixing his scarf, while Xavier brooded and glared at Dylan for taking his love-interest, and Felix tried to stop Michael from chasing after his brother into the night. It was all so mundane; so normal ... And though she looke

"Stupid Little Vladdy ..." A deep baritone rumbled, and red eyes pierced startling crimson in the quiet darkness of the night. They settled upon the slender figure of a fourteen year old boy, whose yellow eyes were filled with tears, and cheeks beaten red with sham and pain. Vladimir Bakke held his arm outward, sniveling as his older brother dabbed at his wound with an alcohol swab.
"I told you not to do it, but you blatantly ignored me. Are you f-" he caught himself before the profanity left his lips - he refused to swear in front of his beloved baby brother. "-stupid?"
The white-haired teenaged wiped at his eyes, cringing as he was scolde

Akira sighed, exotic eyes peering out the window, awaiting for the rain to finally cease. The sky was dark and gray, the only light filtering through cracks in the clouds. The wind howled and the palm trees flailed erratically, crying for release. Tropical rains were always terrible. The little Asian man, 18 years old and only 5'6, flicked one of two large, charcoal appendages, growing where his ears should be; in fact, they were ears. Akira was something special- he was known as a Neko; part-cat, part-human ... And he was bored. He didn't go outside a lot- in the two years he had served under his Master, seldom did he head into the wildernes
Not many people would actually understand true problems of life. Mainly because they all thought that their problems were horrible and never thought to think of someone who could - and did - have it a lot worse.
I had it a lot worse, but nobody would ever realize that. I always had a smile on my face and I always joked around. Nobody would’ve ever thought that I was anything close to being depressed.
People were the same everywhere. It didn’t matter that I hung around with supernatural - to humans - creatures. None of them wanted to believe that I could have it worse than them. They all stayed at Club Onyx because it was a p
“I’ve seen him before.” I looked down at my sister as she spoke those words. She was looking straight ahead, with her head tilted to the side as if she was trying to place something or someone. I followed her gaze to see her looking at Ran Kurosaki; he was walking around with a little girl as well, though I somehow doubted that they were related by blood. There was no physical resemblance, other than the dark hair that they both shared. “He’s been in our house before, Katsu, so who is he?”
I looked down at my sister once again, to find her staring at me with an honest and open face. There were two things

Why?
Why do you insist on treating me this way?
"All those things don't matter."
Is that so? Does Danna speak the truth? Are my feelings for you ... Meaningless?
Why?
"Don't say such terrible things." I heard the quiver in my voice; it would be blasphemous of me to say it was not there.
I expected rejection.
But I didn't expect you to call me a liar, indirectly or otherwise.
You said my name; I hear the exasperation. "Akira, listen-"
"No!" It was childish of my to cry, I knew, but I couldn't help it. "Don't say such awful things! They may mean nothing to you, but the mean everything to me!"
